26 Jan 2021, 00:07 GMT+10

PanARMENIAN.Net - Unknown people attacked Armenian cargo trucks in Georgia's Qvemo Ponitchala settlement in the wee hours of Monday, January 25 and threw stones on the vehicles, breaking some windshields and windows and fleeing the scene, the embassy of Yerevan in Tbilisi reports.

Only after the arrival of the vehicles of Georgia's patrol police were the trucks able to hit the road again and reach the Armenian border safely, the Embassy added.

According to the Armenian mission, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has initiated a criminal case to probe the case.

The statement from the embassy came hours after media reports alleging that a group of Turks or Azeris had attacked Armenian trucks transporting foods and agricultural produce.
