ANKARA, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- Turkish security forces detained seven people for illegally crossing from Syria into Turkey's southern Hatay province, Turkey's Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.
It was determined by investigation that one of the detained was a member of the Islamic State (IS) group and was wanted with a red notice, the ministry said in a statement.
In a separate operation on Monday, Turkish security forces detained seven people, including two IS suspects, in Hatay and the southeastern province of Sanliurfa.
The IS has been blamed for a spate of deadly attacks in Turkey since 2015. Turkey's counter-terrorism units in response have been conducting operations against the group's members in the country.
