Turkish authorities seize 114 kg of drugs in Black Sea coast operation

ANKARA, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- Turkish security forces seized 114 kg of narcotics in an anti-smuggling operation on the country's northwestern Black Sea coast, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said on X.

Yerlikaya said the Coast Guard Law Enforcement Support Team intercepted a sea scooter carrying six bags of drugs off the Karanlikdere coast in the Demirkoy district of Kirklareli province. Authorities recovered 114 kg of cannabis and detained one foreign national, he added.

The minister praised the coordinated efforts of the Coast Guard, gendarmerie, and police, saying Trkiye will continue its "determined fight against crime and criminals" on land and at sea.
