BUCHAREST, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- Romania's Ministry of National Defence has signed an intergovernmental agreement to purchase a HISAR-class light corvette from Trkiye, the ministry announced on Wednesday.
The contract is valued at 223 million euros (260 million U.S. dollars). According to the ministry, the deal covers the cost of the vessel, crew training, and a logistical support package.
Acting Defence Minister Radu Miruta and Turkish Deputy Defence Minister Musa Heybet attended the signing ceremony. (1 euro = 1.17 U.S. dollar)
