UAE, Trkiye discuss Gaza, bilateral ties

ABU DHABI, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, held talks on Wednesday in Abu Dhabi with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, discussing the situation in Gaza and bilateral relations, the state news agency WAM reported.

Both sides stressed the urgent need to uphold the ceasefire in Gaza and address the worsening humanitarian crisis, highlighting the importance of ensuring the rapid, safe, and unhindered delivery of aid to civilians in need.

They reaffirmed the necessity of intensifying diplomatic efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace in the region based on the two-state solution, noting that it remains the only viable path toward long-term regional stability.

The officials also exchanged views on measures to de-escalate tensions and prevent further deterioration of the regional situation.

In addition, they reviewed UAE-Trkiye relations, emphasizing their shared commitment to strengthening cooperation within the framework of their strategic partnership and the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement.
