ANKARA, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- The Turkish gendarmerie seized 348 kg of narcotics in a coordinated operation in the southeastern province of Hakkari, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said on Tuesday.

As a result of intelligence work, the narcotics, namely 332 kg of skunk and 16 kg of methamphetamine, were seized in the rural area of Yuksekova district, Yerlikaya said on the social media platform X.

"We are conducting separate operations to break and dismantle every link in the supply chain, from the ringleaders and managers to the street dealers of the drug crime organizations," he said.

Trkiye has long struggled with international drug trafficking. Turkish security forces regularly conduct operations to combat drug abuse and smuggling.
