PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia's Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan said Yerevan and Ankara are continuing discussions on implementing previously reached agreements to open the border for third-country nationals and holders of diplomatic passports as soon as possible.

"I cannot say anything about the timeline. We expect to implement the agreements we have reached with Turkey. We continue discussions with the Turkish side in order to bring those agreements into reality as soon as possible," he said, according to Armenpress.

Since 2022, Armenia and Turkey have been engaged in a normalization process, within which the sides agreed at an initial stage to open the border for third-country nationals and diplomatic passport holders. However, that agreement has not yet been implemented.

The Armenia-Turkey border has been closed by Turkey since 1993.
