KATHMANDU, May 11 (Xinhua) -- A Turkish Airlines plane caught fire in its landing gear tires when landing in Nepal's Tribhuvan International Airport on Monday morning, an official said.

The passengers were evacuated through the emergency door while firefighters doused the fire. Raj Kumar Silwal, spokesperson at Airport Security Office, said 276 passengers and 11 crew members were rescued safely.
