PanARMENIAN.Net - A joint session of the Armenia-Turkey commission on the shared use of the waters of the Akhuryan and Araks rivers was held in Yerevan for the first time, and several documents were signed, Armenia's Water Committee said.
The meeting of the permanent Armenian-Turkish transboundary water resource management commissions on the operation of the Sardarapat regulator and the operation of the Akhuryan reservoir took place first at the Armenia-Turkey border checkpoint and later at the administrative building of "Jrar" CJSC under the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure.
Tigran Vardanyan, director of "Jrar" CJSC, delivered welcoming remarks. According to the statement, Vardanyan said the signed documents were prepared on mutually beneficial terms.
The statement also noted that several important agreements were reached during the meeting, though no specific details were disclosed.
