ANKARA, April 22 (Xinhua) -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday Trkiye supports peace and diplomacy in the Middle East conflict.
He made the remarks in a meeting with visiting NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in Ankara, where the two sides discussed regional and global issues, according to a statement by the Turkish presidency.
"President Erdogan stated that Trkiye has positioned itself on the side of peace and diplomacy in the process that began with the attacks against Iran," the statement said.
Erdogan also reaffirmed Trkiye's continued efforts for a peaceful end to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, vowing to work on reviving negotiations and facilitating leader-level talks between the two countries.
